Taking place on 22 October, the latest Lighthouse Talk titled ‘Contemporary craft: preserving heritage in luxury design’ united innovators and changemakers to explore the intersection of tradition and modernity in luxury design, with a particular focus on Korean craftsmanship.
The conversation was led by Max Fraser, Editorial Director at Dezeen, who was joined by three remarkable panellists: Chris Cooke, Head of Design Collaborations at Bentley; Teo Yang from Teo Yang Studio, which focuses on translating Korean traditional heritage into a modern design language; and Jivoon Lee, a curator, art historian and consultant, lecturer who has been organizing contemporary art exhibitions in Europe and Korea for the past 25 years. Together, they took the audience on a journey through the essence of contemporary craft in Korea and its pivotal role in redefining luxury, aligning with Bentley’s ethos of exquisite craftsmanship built on painstaking attention to detail.
