(Crewe, 17 August 2026) For generations, Bentley has set the benchmark for interior craftsmanship using the world’s finest materials. Leather and wood remain central to that heritage, but Torcal introduces a new generation of materials, finishes and textures that broaden Bentley’s design palette while remaining true to its commitment to exceptional craftsmanship. Whether sculpted, stitched, polished or assembled by hand, every surface reflects Bentley’s enduring dedication to artistry, authenticity and luxury.
A significant innovation for the Torcal cabin is the introduction of Merino wool. Long celebrated in the worlds of fashion and interior design for its softness, warmth and natural elegance, wool has historically lacked the durability required for automotive applications. That challenge has now been overcome.
Bentley has partnered with Fox Brothers, the renowned Somerset cloth maker that has been weaving fine wool fabrics since the 18th century, to create an entirely new material specifically for Torcal. The collaboration resulted in the world’s first 100 per cent Merino wool automotive fabric capable of meeting the exacting demands of a luxury vehicle. The wool flannel is also the first automotive wool fabric to achieve 100 per cent certification by the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), the globally recognised programme managed by Textile Exchange.
Soft to the touch, naturally breathable and unmistakably authentic, it introduces a new dimension of warmth and comfort to the Torcal interior.
Torcal also debuts a remarkable new Ombre Veneer. Created from sustainably sourced walnut off-cuts and craft (recycled) paper, the veneer is formed from up to 1,000 individually selected layers that are carefully pressed together before being sliced to less than a millimetre in thickness. Designed to complement the geometry of the cabin, the material creates a seamless transition of tone across each surface. Four distinct walnut shades flow naturally from deep black through dark smoke and light smoke before revealing the richness of natural walnut. The result is both contemporary and timeless: a striking expression of modern luxury rooted in traditional craftsmanship.
Further expanding Torcal’s technical finishes is the introduction of Sunburst Aluminium by Mulliner. Technical, tactile and highly sophisticated, the finish reinterprets the engine-turned aluminium dashboards that graced Bentley models of the past. Precision-crafted with extraordinary attention to detail, it combines heritage-inspired artistry with a distinctly contemporary aesthetic.
To accompany the introduction of Merino wool, six carefully curated colourways have been tailored specifically for the new material. Each palette combines complementary tones from the same colour family, creating depth, harmony and a contemporary sense of sophistication.
The Torcal will continue to redefine luxury craftsmanship for a new era. By combining innovative materials, sustainable thinking and meticulous attention to detail, the Torcal demonstrates how the future of luxury can be both progressive and beautifully crafted. It is a vision of modern Bentley design where traditional skills meet contemporary materials to create interiors that are as responsible as they are desirable.
