Remembering Phil Brooks

It is with great sadness that all of us at the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club and the Rolls-Royce Foundation share the news that longtime member Phil Brooks passed away following complications from an illness.

Phil and his wife, Sue, joined the RROC in 1966. During the nearly 60 years that followed, they became two of the most passionate and dedicated supporters of both the Club and the Foundation.

Phil was truly a pillar of our organizations. His extraordinary knowledge, leadership, dedication, and guidance helped shape both the RROC and the RRF into what they are today. It is fair to say that much of what we now enjoy would not have been possible without his countless contributions.

Phil’s service to the Foundation and the Club included:

• RRF Board Member

• RRF President

• RRF Historian

• RRF Collections Committee Member

• Co-editor of The Flying Lady

• Co-editor of The Directory and Register

• RROC National Judge, Ombudsman, and Team Captain

• Co-host of RROC Annual Meets

• RROC Meet Committee Member

• Co-host of RROC National Tours

• RROC Regional Chair and Vice Chair

• Co-editor of The Chesapeake Lady

• RROC Regional Judge

• Co-host of numerous regional events

Beyond these many titles and accomplishments, Phil brought boundless energy, enthusiasm, and generosity to everything he did. He freely shared his knowledge, encouraged others, and gave an extraordinary amount of his time to preserving the history and strengthening the community he cared about so deeply.

All of us at the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club and the Rolls-Royce Foundation extend our deepest condolences to Sue, their son Tony, and everyone who knew and loved Phil.

His impact on both organizations is immeasurable, and he will be deeply missed.
