Growing up with passions for soccer and cars, Bentley ambassador Cody Gakpo has realized his dreams – in more ways than one.

A leading figure in the world of sport, Cody Gakpo currently plays for Liverpool FC and the Netherlands’ national soccer team, and his globally recognized success has now brought him a new role as the ambassador for Bentley Motors UK and Europe. With a long-standing personal admiration for the Bentley brand, Gakpo shares the same dedication to excellence that has defined Bentley’s performance engineering throughout its 106-year history.

As Gakpo flies down the field with power and precision, he credits his success to his father. And to thank him, Gakpo has purchased and gifted a Bentayga to the man who he credits as his greatest inspiration.

He says: “Growing up, my parents always showed me what hard work really means. Gifting my dad his Bentayga was a full circle moment, a way of saying thank you for everything he’s taught me, and something we used to dream about together.”

Giving back is something Gakpo has always wanted to do. A committed philanthropist, he travels annually to his father’s homeland of Togo, to champion local initiatives that harness the power of sport, education and collective uplift. There, he hosts an annual soccer tournament and works hands-on with local charities and community projects with a genuine desire to make a difference.

A lifelong admirer

Gakpo and Bentley both share dedication to meticulous skill, and he experienced this during a visit to the Bentley factory in Crewe, where he tried his hand at stitching a steering wheel. Struck by the precision displayed by our team on the production line, he was inspired to create a unique Mulliner specification for a new Bentayga Speed.

He chose a striking combination of Rubino Red exterior, with a Pillar Box Red and Beluga interior – a nod to his Liverpool FC team colours. Gakpo currently drives a Bentayga S Black Edition V8 in Royal Ebony Satin – a special Mulliner paint color – with a Mandarin and Beluga interior, in homage to his Dutch heritage and national team, ‘Oranje’ or orange.
